The day that Hugo and I decided to visit Balboa Park was the day that all the museums were free and many, several children's events were going on. It was a giant, sunny, Spanish flavoured, gorgeous daycare center. I went in to see Hugo's gallery show and after walking around a bit we just had to get out of that mass of people. A few thousand people were coming and going… We would have visited the San Diego Zoo but the entrance tickets cost so much and neither of us were feeling generous enough towards the establishment at the time to justify paying the admission.
These dogs belong to Hugo's parents. La Cookie was abused when she was younger and startles very easily. She follows her owners around everywhere in the house and whines when left alone. El Rocco is the security system outside who barks at anything that he can see (or smell) within a 5 meter range. He loved to bark at me. I tried to get him used to my presence but it was a game for him to make as much noise as possible when he saw me. This made it nearly impossible to even get fresh drinking water from the supply bottles without another person there to quiet him.
