some fun facts about the color pink:
• natural pink dyes can be obtained from berries, cherries, red and pink roses, avocado skins and seeds
• pink is not gender specific
• pink is not age specific
• pink is not an actual color- of light
• pink is how humans see the lack of green light
i have never been a huge fan of pink. so here i am forcing myself to tackle the age and gender role implications unnecessarily attached to a mere color- plus addressing the general mediocrity of social media.
and here i am showing off bruising i sustained from a performance rehearsal when i was living in Brookyln, New York.
the subject is selling to the viewer an idea of sexual intimacy so they will bother to look at the bodily injury. the viewer will look, but the viewer, in general, will have no real empathy for the subject.
curiously, the wall was not really that shade of pink. the camera just read it that way; which added to the “feminine allure.” or whatever.
